Cookie Policy
Effective July 4, 2026
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser; this policy also covers similar browser storage we use (marked below). LoyaltyChips — operated by Sharka Software, LLC — uses them sparingly, and nothing beyond the essentials runs without your explicit consent. This policy lists every cookie we set and exactly when. For the bigger picture of how we handle data, see the Privacy Policy; the contract governing the service is the Terms of Service.
Our approach
- Essential cookies only, by default. Signing in and remembering your consent choice are the only things that set cookies before you decide.
- Analytics and advertising load only after “Accept all.” PostHog, Google Analytics 4, and Meta Pixel — and our own
lc_sididentifier — are never set unless you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner. - Cookieless baseline analytics. Our host, Vercel, provides aggregate, cookieless analytics that we treat as essential. It sets no cookies and builds no individual profiles.
Cookies and storage we set
| Cookie / storage | Purpose | Category | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-* | Supabase authentication cookies that keep you signed in to your account. | Essential | Only when you sign in |
lc-consent | Remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner (kept in browser local storage, not a cookie). | Essential | When you make a choice in the banner |
lc_sid | First-party analytics identifier that helps us understand product usage (browser local storage). | Analytics | Only after “Accept all” |
_ga, _gid | Google Analytics 4 traffic measurement. | Analytics | Only after “Accept all” |
_fbp | Meta Pixel ad measurement. | Advertising | Only after “Accept all” |
ph_* | PostHog product analytics. | Analytics | Only after “Accept all” |
Consent and Global Privacy Control
- If you decline in the banner — or simply never accept — only the essential cookies above are used.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honor it as a decline: the optional analytics and advertising tools do not load.
- To change your mind later, use the Cookie preferences link in the site footer — it clears your stored choice (kept as
lc-consentin local storage) and thelc_sididentifier, and the banner reappears. Clearing this site’s data in your browser does the same.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, clear, or block cookies per site. Blocking the essential sb-* cookies will prevent sign-in, but reward pages remain reachable — a customer can still tap a chip and claim a reward without any optional cookies.
